WE OPENED OUR FIRST CAFÉ IN BENGALURU IN 1996. TODAY, WE HAVE ESTABLISHED THE LARGEST FOOTPRINT OF CAFÉ OUTLETS IN INDIA.

We are the parent company of the Coffee Day Group, which houses Café Coffee Day that pioneered the coffee culture in the chained café segment in India. This coffee goes all over the world to clients across, Europe and Japan, making us one of the top coffee exporters in the country. We opened our first Café Coffee Day outlet in Bengaluru in 1996 , ours was a new vision—one where coffee was more than just a beverage. It was a cup that brought coffee aficionados, budding coffee drinkers, and well, friends together over a cup of freshly brewed coffee. Today, our subsidiary Coffee Day Global Limited has established the largest footprint of café outlets in India-spread across more than 200 cities. Our forays into diverse businesses are marked by the same passion with which we started Coffee Day Global Limited. Our portfolio includes Technology Parks & SEZs, Logistics, Investments, Financial Services and Hospitality.

Our Company was originally formed as a partnership firm constituted under the Indian Partnership Act, 1932 on February 1, 2008 under the name Coffeeday Holding Co. Coffeeday Holding Co. was thereafter converted from a partnership firm to a private limited company under Part IX of the Companies Act, 1956 as Coffee Day Holdings Company Private Limited. The name of our Company was changed to Coffee Day Resorts Private Limited and subsequently, as Coffee Day Enterprises Private Limited. Our Company was converted into a public limited company and the name of our Company was changed to Coffee Day Enterprises Limited thereafter.

OUR HISTORY

The history of our business,
marking milestones:

1993 Incorporates Coffee Day Global Limited (formerly Amalgamated Bean Coffee Trading Company Limited) to start our café business
1995 Coffee Day Global launches the brand "Coffee Day" through "Fresh & Ground" retail stores to provide fresh and branded coffee beans and powder
2000 Launch of the financial advisory and services firm, Way2Wealth by taking over the retail financial services operations of Sivan Securities Limited
2000 We make an investment in Mindtree Limited through our subsidiary, Coffee Day Trading Limited
2005 Coffee Day Global launches its first international café in Vienna, Austria
2006 Our subsidiary, Tanglin, launches Global Village - an SEZ tech park in Bengaluru
2006 We launch a hospitality venture through Coffee Day Hotels & Resorts Private Limited currently, our subsidiary under the brand name “The Serai” in Chikmagalur, Karnataka
2010 Investment by Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co., Standard Chartered and NLS our Company
2011 Acquisition of Sical through our subsidiary Tanglin
2012 CCD won the first, second place at the IBC (India Barista Championship) and second position holder went on to represent India at the Asia Barista Championship in Singapore and the first position holder represented India at the WBC (World Barista Championship) in June in Austria
2013 ABP News Brand Excellence Awards - won the award for excellence in the retail sector - October 2013
2014 The grand award at the 'ICICI Bank Credit & Debit Cards presents ET Retail Awards 2014' in the category 'ET Retail Hall of Fame' went to Mr. V G Siddhartha for his outstanding contribution to the growth in retail
2015 Women's Barista Championship - CCD Baristee won Gold at the same event conducted by Women's Coffee Alliance India and you represented India at a symposium in the USA
2016 Poonam Kumari from CCD (winner at International Woman's Coffee Alliance - IWCA Summit) in Dec-2016
2017 West & North Recruitment Teams have been awarded by TRRAIN & PANKH for hiring differently abled personnel - 2017
2018 February 2018 - Café Coffee Day has been ranked at No. 2nd most trusted brand in the Food Services category, way above Starbucks (No.9) and Mc Donald's (No.5) (Brand equity).
2019 Café Coffee Day was awarded the ‘Most trusted cafe’ in terms of Quality, Value for Money, Recommendations and Understanding Consumer Needs by Brand Equity, Economic Times
2022 CCD was awarded the Most Admired Food Service Business Transformation/Turnaround Success Story of the Year at Pepsi Images Food Service Awards 2022 (PIFSA)
