Sustainability

• The UTZ Certified Code of Conduct is a recognized global "decency" standard for coffee, and production criteria for socially and environmentally appropriate growing practices, and efficient farm management. Majority of coffee farms across our supply chain, wherein we have a major stake are UTZ certified for sustainable agricultural practices with least impact to surrounding forests and wildlife.
• As part of our social responsibility, a trust has been set up in the field of vocational training to empower the local population in the coffee growing region.
• CCD employ over 50 speech and hearing impaired people at various outlets as part of their regular staff as a move towards equal employment. They are called 'Silent Brew Masters' and CCD has tied up with NGO 'Enable India' to increase the number of such differently-abled employees.
• We contributed to the Disaster relief fund for 2009 flood victims of Karnataka State by rebuilding homes
• We continually strive to ensure our processes are compatible with ecosystems and encourage community support activities such as Art, Sports & Culture.
• The group has taken CSR Initiatives to make a significant difference both to our stakeholders and to the planet.
